Being raised by a single dad isn’t such a bad thing. When that dad is a bank robber who teaches you the family line of business and starts using you as an accomplice from the time you are 9 years old, it isn’t such a good thing either. Tara Evans definitely has a different sort of upbringing. She doesn’t mind doing the bank robberies, but she does mind that her dad seems to more and more psychotic and homicidal every day. About the time she decides to make the break from him, she also happens to meet and fall in love at first sight. Unfortunately the guy she falls in love with is the sheriff’s son.

Growing up a sheriff’s son is fine, but when your dad is a self help book junkie and doesn’t want you to leave town even though you’re 21 and ready to go have your own life it’s a bit stifling. When Max meets Tara he’s smitten right off the bat. The next time he sees her, however is in the middle of a bank robbery.

This book is kind of wacky. If you’re not a fan of dark humor, stay far far away from it. If you don’t mind a bit of twisted humor and craziness it’s not bad. It’s also not great, but a fun enough diversion for a couple of days worth of reading.

I have a copy of this one in my TBR collection and am looking forward to giving it a try. I do like dark humor and wacky stories.

This book sounds entertaining. I saw your comment on RaiderGirl's site about "In The Woods." My sister-in-law is reading this and said I could borrow it when she and then her husband are done with it. Your comments make me feel like I'm in for a good read.

Literary Feline: it's a fun diversion type of book.

Lexi: Awww - thanks!

Bumbles: Oh I'm totally wrapped up in "In the Woods". Unfortunately work and life in general is cutting into my reading time!
