>> Friday, June 12, 2009
Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Eva and Alessandra that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
I had every intention more returns than check-outs this week. Oops !!
Renewed:
Charity Girl by Georgette Heyer. This is most likely my next read
I had every intention more returns than check-outs this week. Oops !!
Renewed:
Charity Girl by Georgette Heyer. This is most likely my next read
New this week:
The Apprentice by Tess Gerritsen. The second in her Detective Jane Rizzoli/ Dr. Maura Isles series is also one of my TBR Challenge alternates this year. I’m trying make an effort to read “the next book” in many of my current series.
The Secret Keeper by Paul Harris. After reading so many good reviews lately, I was pleasantly surprised that the waiting list wasn’t too bad for this one. I can’t renew it due to holds, but I have until June 29th to get it read.
Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. I’ve had this one on my TBR list for ages. Since I’ll be watching the movie for MyFriendAmy’s Summer of Hitchcock, I figured I’d best read the book before August 10th.Other stuff:
North by Northwest is the first Hitchcock movie we’re watching and discussing for MyFriendAmy’s Summer of Hitchcock. I’m really looking forward to watching some of his movies I’ve never seen. It looks like I should be able to get all of them from the library. Check out the schedule for The Summer of Hitchcock and join the fun.

No stars – I couldn’t even finish it
1 star – I didn’t like it but I managed to finish it.
2 stars – It was OK. Not good, but seriously just OK.
3 stars - I liked it. I didn’t think it was great, but I thought it was good entertainment.
4 stars – I really liked it. I really think you might like it too.
5 stars – It was amazing. I’d recommend this to just about anyone.

The Apprentice has a really creepy cover. Rebecca (the book) is awesome!!My favourite Hitchcocks are The Lady Vanishes, Rebecca, Spellbound, and Notorious.
I love Hitchcock but have never seen North By Northwest. My favorite is probably Rear Window with Suspcion running a close second. I love his t.v. show as well though. I may have to check in to this summer challenge though!
North by Northwest is fabulous. One of our favorite movies!
In my next life I want Hitchcock to be my personal shopper. He really knew how to make a woman look stunning - and even more stunning than she already was!
You got some interesting books there :)
You've been tagged with a meme, if you would like to participate check here :)

Eva: yes and the book is pretty creepy too. I'm really looking forward to reading Rebecca.
Kristie: I've never seen North by Northwest either. You should check out Amy's blog and join the Summer of Hitchcock fun.
C: You should also check out the schedule and join in when you can. I agree about the women in his films - great fashions.
DesertRose: thanks for the heads up. I'll check it out, but I rarely do memes other than Library Loot.
I love your loot. It's manageable. I've read a ton of great reviews on The Secret Keeper. If I can get my stack down some, I'll place it on hold. Happy reading.
Vasilly: I get nervous when I worry about getting my library books read before they're due. I'm always watching to make sure I can renew those I'm delaying. I really try to keep the library stuff under control.
