Weekend Update May 5, 2012
>> Saturday, May 5, 2012

Since my last update:
I started reading The Lola Quartet by Emily St. John Mandel. I’m liking it a lot but haven’t had much reading time.
On audio I’m listening to The Ape Who Guards the Balance by Elizabeth Peters. The Amelia Peabody series continues to be one of my favorite audiobook choices.
Other than books and reading:
Part of the reason I haven’t had much reading time is that I’ve been spending much of my free time knitting. I needed to get to a certain point for this week’s class. I just love how this yarn and sweater are turning out. I just hope I can manage to finish it and have it look somewhat like a sweater.
Looking through my photos from this week . . .
One of my Photo a Day prompts for this week was “skyline”. The best view of the Portland skyline is from the middle of the Marquam bridge. This one from a moving car didn’t turn out too bad.
Hope you’re having a great weekend.

No stars – I couldn’t even finish it
1 star – I didn’t like it but I managed to finish it.
2 stars – It was OK. Not good, but seriously just OK.
3 stars - I liked it. I didn’t think it was great, but I thought it was good entertainment.
4 stars – I really liked it. I really think you might like it too.
5 stars – It was amazing. I’d recommend this to just about anyone.

Wow, you are doing very well on the sweater. I love the color - berry is what it looks like to me. Lovely picture of the Portland downtown area.
The sweater is looking wonderful! What pattern are you using?
Love the photo! I'm also reading The Lola Quartet, but I stopped after the first section because I felt like she wasn't giving me enough information. It's still sitting beside the bed with bookmark in place, waiting.
Beautiful photo. Wow. See this is why it's hard for me to do photo of the day. I work from home and can't see a skyline from here. I'm not sure I have a skyline within driving distance. LOL.
Wow! That photo's from a moving car?!?! Very nice shot! I love Portland.
Kay: thanks - I'm really happy with how the sweater is turning out.
Allison: thanks - it's the Top Down Scoop Neck T-shirt from Knitting Pure and Simple.
Bookfool: I think we agree on The Lola Quartet.
Beth: Oh you should check out the Photo a day hashtag - folks are getting creative. There were plenty of skyline photos with no buildings. Just the skylines people had available.
Les: Yup - and with a phone too.
