Book Blogger Appreciation Week – Highlights from this week
>> Friday, September 14, 2012
Today’s topic for Book Blogger Appreciation week is to Share a highlight of this year’s BBAW. Whether it’s a blog you discovered or a book you’re going to read or a way you felt refreshed, this is the day to celebrate the week!
It’s simply not possible for me to name one highlight.
I think my primary highlight was that there were no awards associated with it this year. I loved the focus on inclusion rather than comparison. I thought it was a very positive change.
This was the first year I'd participated in the interview swap and I had a blast. Jess was a delight to get to know and it was fun to answer the questions she asked me.
I absolutely adored both Trish's and Andi's posts about what Book Blogging means to them. If you haven’t read either of those posts go read them now.
I had some new commenters here this week and I've bookmarked their blogs. If you’re not familiar with these bloggers you should get to know them

No stars – I couldn’t even finish it
1 star – I didn’t like it but I managed to finish it.
2 stars – It was OK. Not good, but seriously just OK.
3 stars - I liked it. I didn’t think it was great, but I thought it was good entertainment.
4 stars – I really liked it. I really think you might like it too.
5 stars – It was amazing. I’d recommend this to just about anyone.

This has been the best BBAW in a long time. So much more relaxed and fun. It was just a great week! Yay for us!
I kinda ranted on my BBAW concluding post!
:D
BBAW: Highlight
"A week is not enough time to read all the good stuff and get to know all the great book bloggers who participated."
No kidding! So much great stuff came up this week. It was really a great event.
I did my first interview swap, too, and it was so much fun. I'm glad you had a good week!
The week went by so fast! I feel the same way you do about the benefit of not having awards this year. The best part, of course, was getting to know so many new bloggers as well as getting to know our old friends better. I had such fun this week.
Thanks, Suzi! Likewise, your blog has been found and bookmarked, as it were. That's an important highlight, the no awards. It really does seem to have lifted all of us and it's poignant they were not missed. I'm thinking of doing similar, catching up on posts I didn't get to. Can't help but feel sorry for those who posted later because they no doubt didn't get many visitors.
It has been a great week, hasn't it?! I like that the awards went away this year, and I do feel like that fostered more of a sense of inclusion. Thanks for the shout out. Loved, loved, loved the experiences this week.
Thank you so much for mentioning me.
How exciting. :)
I agree that INCLUSION and COMMUNITY were the main focus, and it was awesome.
I found so many great blogs, including yours, and more wonderful books. This was my first time participating.
I got to know new bloggers and got to know my old blogger friends even better.
It is has been a fabulous week. I loved it all.
Stop by my blog if you like to see my Day 3, 4, and 5 responses if you like.
